About the role

Maersk is seeking an Associate SAP ABAP Developer who blends solid ABAP engineering with hands‑on AI experience. You will create and enhance custom SAP solutions on S/4HANA and SAP BTP, embed generative‑AI and machine‑learning services, and automate routine security and basis tasks to minimise manual effort.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test and deploy ABAP objects such as reports, interfaces, enhancements, forms and workflows using OO, CDS, AMDP, RAP and Fiori/UI5.
Integrate AI/ML models and LLM services via REST/OData, handling prompts, responses and error management.
Automate SAP Security (user provisioning, role reviews, SoD) and Basis operations (health checks, transport, job monitoring) with ABAP, Python, PowerShell or Ansible.
Maintain integrations through IDocs, BAPIs, SAP Integration Suite and build CI/CD pipelines for ABAP and BTP code.
Collaborate in Agile squads, gather requirements, produce technical specs, unit tests and documentation.
Mentor junior team members and contribute to code reviews and knowledge sharing.

Eligibility

Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
3‑5 years of professional SAP ABAP development experience.
Minimum 2 years of practical AI/ML or generative‑AI exposure in SAP or related projects.
Proven delivery of at least one full‑lifecycle SAP implementation or enhancement.

Skills

Strong ABAP expertise (classic, OO), OpenSQL, CDS, OData and Fiori backend development.
Hands‑on experience with S/4HANA, ABAP on HANA, RAP and ADT.
Proficiency in Python or another scripting language for AI and automation.
Experience calling AI services via REST APIs, handling JSON and OAuth authentication.
Knowledge of SAP Security concepts, SoD, GRC and Basis tooling.
