About the role

American Express is hiring fresh graduates for a 12‑month paid Apprentice – Enterprise Technology Services programme. The role is hybrid, based in Bengaluru, Gurugram or Chennai, and involves building and maintaining APIs, services and customer‑facing applications using Java, JavaScript, .NET or Python.

Responsibilities

Write clean code in Java, JavaScript, .NET or Python as part of an agile development team.
Collaborate on API design, code reviews and sprint testing activities.
Develop proof‑of‑concept tools and small automation scripts.
Assist in designing mobile (iOS/Android) and web applications for card and payment platforms.
Implement web systems for data collection and processing.

Eligibility

Completed B.E/B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA or equivalent degree in Computer Science, IT or related field.
Graduation year 2024‑2026; final‑year students are not eligible.
No prior work experience required.
Basic proficiency in at least one programming language.
Willingness to work hybrid from one of the three Indian locations.
Clear background verification.

Skills

Java, JavaScript, .NET or Python programming.
Understanding of REST APIs and web services.
Fundamental testing concepts.
Basic knowledge of version control and agile methodologies.
