About the role

American Express is hiring an Analyst – Data Analytics for its Sales Enablement organisation in Gurgaon. The role focuses on building automated, data‑driven solutions that improve operational efficiency across US SME channels, leveraging Python, SQL, Hive and big‑data tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation solutions for operational processes across multiple US SME channels.
• Collaborate with sales, technology, analytics and control teams to align solutions with business needs.
• Perform data manipulation, statistical analysis and mining using Python, SQL and Hive.
• Analyse existing processes, identify gaps and propose improvements.
• Develop, validate and roll out operational solutions with minimal manual effort.
• Guide contractors and apprentices to ensure accurate execution of daily activities.
• Investigate operational issues, determine root causes and devise practical fixes.
• Challenge legacy approaches and recommend more efficient alternatives.
• Generate business insights by highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
• Continuously seek efficiency gains through analytics, automation and technology.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Engineering, Economics, Finance, Statistics, AI, Data Analytics or related fields.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands‑on experience with Hive, PySpark, data mining, statistical modelling and machine‑learning techniques.
• Exposure to big‑data environments and cloud platforms is advantageous.
• Professional experience in data analytics, automation or related roles.
