Transportation Specialist I, ROC

About the role

Amazon's Relay Operation Center (ROC) is looking for a Transportation Specialist I to manage transportation execution across its supply chain. The role involves coordinating with carriers, vendors, shippers and internal Amazon teams, resolving shipment exceptions, analysing operational data and supporting 24×7 operations for North America and Europe.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with external partners (carriers, vendors, shippers, drivers) and internal Amazon sites to resolve transportation issues.
• Maintain high quality and productivity standards during all interactions.
• Identify the scale of operational problems, systematically escalate to the right owners and track closure.
• Use Amazon internal tools along with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel for daily tasks.
• Analyse trends in transportation data and make decisions that protect customer promises.
• Support inbound and outbound freight operations, including appointment booking, rescheduling and capacity management.
• Work rotational shifts to provide 24×7 coverage for NA and EU regions.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative or technical discipline such as Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, B.E, B.Tech, B.Sc or BCA.
• 0–5 years of experience in customer support or operations support.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under strict time constraints and handle rotational shift schedules.

Skills

• SQL for data querying and analysis.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word.
• Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Basic understanding of logistics and transportation processes.
