Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (Auth Experiences)

About the role

Affirm is looking for a senior frontend engineer to shape authentication and verification journeys for its customers. Working remotely from Canada, you will craft responsive web and mobile interfaces, ensure low‑latency performance, and partner closely with product, design, and analytics teams to deliver reliable, high‑impact features.

Responsibilities

• Own quarterly objectives for the auth experience team, guiding engineers through ambiguous problems to successful delivery.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and analysts to define requirements, surface technical constraints, and make informed trade‑off decisions.
• Identify and champion solutions for project, process, or technical challenges, driving improvements across the stack.
• Maintain system reliability by defining metrics, handling escalations, and participating in on‑call rotations.
• Elevate code quality and design standards through rigorous reviews, documentation, and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
• Mentor teammates by providing constructive feedback and leading by example.

Eligibility

• Minimum four years of experience building web applications with declarative UI frameworks such as React or Vue.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Proven ability to design and deliver sizable features with clean, extensible architecture.
• Experience modifying large codebases safely, supported by robust tooling and practices.
• Self‑driven growth mindset, actively seeking feedback from peers and stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across a global team.
