About Tesla
Tesla, Inc. is an American multinational automotive and clean-energy company headquartered in Austin, Texas. The company was incorporated in July 2003 as Tesla Motors by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning, with Elon Musk joining in 2004 as the largest investor and later chairman, and ultimately chief executive. Tesla designs, manufactures, and sells battery electric vehicles, including the Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y, and Cybertruck, as well as the Tesla Semi class-8 truck. In addition to vehicles, Tesla produces stationary battery energy-storage systems for residential, commercial, and grid-scale applications under the Powerwall, Powerpack, and Megapack brands, and develops solar generation products including photovoltaic panels and solar roof tiles through Tesla Energy. The company operates a global network of vehicle assembly plants, battery gigafactories, and Supercharger fast-charging stations across the United States, China, Germany, and other markets. Tesla also develops vehicle software, the Autopilot and Full Self-Driving driver-assistance suites, and the Dojo machine-learning supercomputing platform. Tesla is one of the world's most valuable automakers by market capitalisation and a leading producer of plug-in electric vehicles globally. It has a growing presence in India through retail, service, and Supercharger plans, and announced India operations in 2024-2025 with a Mumbai showroom and ongoing market entry. Indian fresher and early-career hiring at Tesla typically targets software-engineer, firmware, vehicle-engineering, manufacturing, supply-chain, sales, and service-technician roles, with applications routed through Tesla's careers portal.
