About smallcase
smallcase Technologies Private Limited is an Indian financial-technology company headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The firm operates an investment platform that allows retail investors to buy, sell, and track baskets of listed stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) called “smallcases”, each constructed around a theme, factor, or asset-allocation model. The company was founded in July 2015 by IIT Kharagpur alumni Vasanth Kamath, Anugrah Shrivastava, and Rohan Gupta. Vasanth Kamath serves as the chief executive officer. Smallcases are typically created and managed by SEBI-registered research analysts, registered investment advisers, and asset managers, and are then made available to investors through brokers integrated with the smallcase platform. smallcase distributes its products through partnerships with major Indian retail brokers including Zerodha, Groww, HDFC Securities, ICICI Direct, Kotak Securities, Axis Direct, and Angel One, among others. The company has additionally launched index-style and rules-based portfolios, and acquired Windmill Capital, a SEBI-registered research-analyst entity that constructs in-house smallcases. smallcase has raised institutional funding from investors including Peak XV Partners (formerly Sequoia Capital India), Blume Ventures, Premji Invest, Faering Capital, Amazon, and HDFC Bank. As of 2025 it employed roughly 290 people and had completed a Series D round. Engineering, product, design, and data-science hiring at smallcase typically targets full-stack and mobile engineers, quantitative researchers, and product managers, with applications routed through smallcase.com/careers.
