About Slice

Slice is an Indian financial-services brand headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The original Slice product was launched in 2016 by Garagepreneurs Internet Pvt. Ltd., founded by Rajan Bajaj, and grew to become one of India's most-used pay-later and consumer-credit-card alternatives, particularly popular with first-time credit users and younger consumers. The Slice product portfolio historically included a co-branded prepaid card and a credit-style 'Super Card' with bill-split, instant repayments, and rewards features built into a mobile-first application. Slice partnered with major card networks and Indian banks for issuance, and processed payments for millions of consumers across UPI and card rails. The company was backed by investors including Tiger Global, Insight Partners, Blume Ventures, and Gunosy Capital, and reached unicorn status in 2021. In October 2024, Slice completed a regulator-approved merger with North East Small Finance Bank (NESFB), creating a unified entity that operates as a small finance bank with a digital-first product strategy. The combined business continues to deliver consumer credit, savings, payments, and other banking products under regulated banking infrastructure, with engineering, product, design, and operations teams concentrated in Bengaluru. Indian fresher and early-career hiring at Slice typically targets software-engineer, mobile-engineer, data-engineer, data-scientist, product, design, risk, and operations roles, sourced through campus placements at Indian engineering and design institutes and through direct applications via the company's careers portal.
