Mercedes Benz

Mercedes-Benz is a German luxury automotive brand operated by Mercedes-Benz Group AG, headquartered in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The brand traces its origins to the late 19th century work of Karl Benz, who built the Benz Patent-Motorwagen in 1886, and Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach, who developed the first high-speed petrol engines and motor vehicles in the same era. The Mercedes-Benz brand was formally established in 1926 with the merger of Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft and Benz & Cie. into Daimler-Benz AG.

Mercedes-Benz Group AG, the listed parent company, was reorganised in 2022 when the former Daimler AG split its passenger-car and van business from its truck and bus business and renamed itself Mercedes-Benz Group AG. The group designs, manufactures, and sells luxury and premium passenger cars, vans, and related mobility services under the Mercedes-Benz, Mercedes-AMG, Mercedes-Maybach, and Mercedes-EQ brands, and it operates a global manufacturing and sales footprint across more than 90 countries.
