About Kaplan

Kaplan, Inc. is an American educational-services company headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, that offers test preparation, professional training, English-language instruction, and higher-education partnerships across more than thirty countries. The company was founded in 1938 by Stanley Kaplan in Brooklyn, New York, originally as a tutoring service that helped students prepare for the New York State Regents Examinations and, later, the SAT. Kaplan grew over the following decades into one of the largest test-prep brands in the world, expanding into preparation courses for entrance examinations such as the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, NCLEX, and various professional licensure exams in fields including accountancy, finance, insurance, real estate, and medicine. The company also operates university pathway programmes, English-language schools through Kaplan International Languages, and corporate training and continuing-education services. Kaplan was acquired by The Washington Post Company in 1984 and remained part of the company after it was renamed Graham Holdings Company in 2013. The company has expanded internationally into Europe, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, and India, where it operates Kaplan Professional services, test-prep partnerships, and a technology delivery centre in Bengaluru supporting global product, content, and engineering teams. Indian fresher and early-career hiring at Kaplan typically targets software-engineer, quality-engineering, content-development, instructional-design, and operations roles, with applications routed through Kaplan's careers portal.
