About Flipkart
Flipkart Private Limited is an Indian e-commerce company headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The company was founded in 2007 by Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal, both former Amazon employees, and has grown into one of India's largest online marketplaces, offering a wide range of categories including electronics, fashion, home and furniture, appliances, grocery, books, and lifestyle products. Flipkart's group portfolio includes the flagship Flipkart marketplace, fashion subsidiary Myntra, a payments and digital-services arm, and the Shopsy social-commerce app for value-conscious shoppers. The group also operates an extensive logistics and supply-chain network through its Ekart subsidiary, which delivers across thousands of Indian pin codes, supports same-day and next-day delivery in major metros, and integrates last-mile, line-haul, fulfilment, and reverse-logistics capabilities. In August 2018, Walmart Inc. acquired a majority stake in Flipkart for approximately US$16 billion, in what was at the time the largest e-commerce acquisition globally, and Flipkart has since operated as a subsidiary of Walmart while remaining headquartered in India. The company holds significant scale around its annual Big Billion Days sale event and is a major employer of technology and operations talent in India. Indian fresher and early-career hiring at Flipkart typically targets software-development-engineer, machine-learning-engineer, data-engineer, data-scientist, product-management, analytics, supply-chain, and category-management roles, sourced through structured campus placements at top Indian engineering and management institutes and through direct applications on the Flipkart Careers portal.
