Chubb Limited is a Swiss-domiciled global insurance company and the world's largest publicly traded property-and-casualty insurer by market capitalisation. The group is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland and maintains its principal executive offices in New York City. Chubb operates in 54 countries and territories and provides commercial and personal property-and-casualty insurance, accident-and-health insurance, reinsurance, life insurance, and supplemental health to a diverse group of multinational corporations, mid-market and small businesses, and individuals. The present Chubb was formed in January 2016, when ACE Limited completed its $29.5 billion acquisition of The Chubb Corporation, a Warren, New Jersey-headquartered insurer founded in 1882, and adopted the Chubb name for the combined group. ACE Limited itself traces its history to 1985, when Marsh & McLennan and 34 other Fortune 500 companies founded ACE in Bermuda. The combined Chubb is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CB. Evan G. Greenberg serves as chairman and chief executive officer. Chubb's product portfolio includes property, casualty, marine, energy, environmental, professional liability, cyber, and management liability insurance for commercial customers; auto, home, valuable-articles, recreational marine, and cyber insurance for personal customers; accident-and-health and supplemental products distributed via direct, broker, and digital channels; and traditional and specialty reinsurance. The group employs approximately 40,000 people globally. India operations include the Chubb India business and Chubb Business Services India, the latter of which has a major hub in Hyderabad supporting technology, data, actuarial, finance, and underwriting services for Chubb's global business.
