The present Chubb was formed in January 2016, when ACE Limited completed its $29.5 billion acquisition of The Chubb Corporation, a Warren, New Jersey-headquartered insurer founded in 1882, and adopted the Chubb name for the combined group. ACE Limited itself traces its history to 1985, when Marsh & McLennan and 34 other Fortune 500 companies founded ACE in Bermuda. The combined Chubb is publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker CB. Evan G. Greenberg serves as chairman and chief executive officer.
