AVEVA Group Limited is a British industrial-software company headquartered in Cambridge, England. The company designs and sells engineering, design, simulation, real-time operations, asset-information, and value-chain optimisation software that is used by industrial enterprises in sectors such as power and utilities, oil and gas, chemicals, mining and metals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, manufacturing, marine, and infrastructure.
The firm traces its origins to 1967, when the UK Ministry of Technology and the University of Cambridge created the Computer-Aided Design Centre (CADCentre) in Cambridge to develop early CAD systems. CADCentre was privatised, listed, and rebranded as AVEVA in 2001. In March 2018 AVEVA combined with Schneider Electric’s industrial-software business, which included Wonderware, InTouch, SimSci, and the historical Invensys software portfolio, in a reverse-takeover transaction.
