AVEVA Group Limited is a British industrial-software company headquartered in Cambridge, England. The company designs and sells engineering, design, simulation, real-time operations, asset-information, and value-chain optimisation software that is used by industrial enterprises in sectors such as power and utilities, oil and gas, chemicals, mining and metals, pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, manufacturing, marine, and infrastructure. The firm traces its origins to 1967, when the UK Ministry of Technology and the University of Cambridge created the Computer-Aided Design Centre (CADCentre) in Cambridge to develop early CAD systems. CADCentre was privatised, listed, and rebranded as AVEVA in 2001. In March 2018 AVEVA combined with Schneider Electric’s industrial-software business, which included Wonderware, InTouch, SimSci, and the historical Invensys software portfolio, in a reverse-takeover transaction. In January 2023 AVEVA was fully acquired and taken private by Schneider Electric, and it now operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary while retaining the AVEVA brand. AVEVA’s product portfolio includes the AVEVA PI System (the operational-data infrastructure formerly known as OSIsoft PI), AVEVA E3D Design, AVEVA Unified Engineering, AVEVA Unified Operations Center, AVEVA Manufacturing Execution System, and the AVEVA Connect industrial-intelligence platform. AVEVA employs over 6,000 people globally and operates in more than 40 countries. India operations include offices and engineering centres in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Pune that support product engineering, services, and customer success.
