Ashoka University is a private, not-for-profit liberal-arts and research university located in Sonipat, Haryana, India, on the outskirts of the Delhi National Capital Region. The university was established in 2014 through the philanthropic contributions of a collective of founders and has positioned itself as one of India's leading institutions for undergraduate liberal-arts education and interdisciplinary research. The university offers undergraduate honours and majors programmes across departments including English, history, political science, economics, sociology and anthropology, philosophy, psychology, biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, computer science, and visual arts, alongside interdisciplinary programmes such as Politics, Philosophy and Economics.
