About ABB
ABB Ltd. is a Swiss-Swedish multinational corporation headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, that supplies electrification and industrial-automation technology to utilities, industry, transportation, and infrastructure customers. The company was formed in 1988 through the merger of Sweden's ASEA and Switzerland's BBC Brown Boveri, and it traces its industrial heritage to the late 19th century in Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany. ABB operates four core business areas: Electrification, which provides low-voltage products, distribution solutions, smart buildings, and electric-vehicle infrastructure; Motion, which supplies motors, generators, drives, and traction equipment for industry and transport; Process Automation, which delivers control systems, instrumentation, and digital products for process industries such as oil and gas, mining, pulp and paper, and marine; and Robotics & Discrete Automation, which provides industrial robots and machine-automation solutions. ABB's robotics business has been a particular focus of investment and growth, and its E-mobility unit operates as a separately listed subsidiary. ABB is publicly listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange and the Nasdaq Stockholm exchange and serves customers in more than 100 countries through manufacturing plants, R&D centres, and service operations. In India, ABB operates through ABB India Limited, headquartered in Bengaluru and listed on the BSE and NSE, with manufacturing sites in Bengaluru, Faridabad, Nashik, Vadodara, and other locations. Indian fresher and early-career hiring at ABB India typically targets electrical-engineer, mechanical-engineer, automation-engineer, software-engineer, embedded-engineer, manufacturing-engineer, sales-engineer, and project-engineer roles, with applications routed through the ABB global careers portal and direct campus recruiting at engineering schools.
