Software Engineer

About the role

WebEngage, a leading customer engagement platform, is looking for a Software Engineer to design and deliver high‑performance backend services. The role involves turning product roadmap items into scalable code, collaborating with product managers and architects, and ensuring reliability through testing and on‑call support.

Responsibilities

• Implement features aligned with the product roadmap, working closely with product managers to address business challenges.
• Translate architectural designs into clean, efficient Java code and RESTful services.
• Conduct peer code reviews, pair programming, and write comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Refactor and optimise existing components, improving performance and reducing costs.
• Monitor system metrics, handle on‑call incidents, and support customers alongside support teams.
• Continuously learn and share knowledge within the team to foster technical growth.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology (B.E/B.Tech) with a strong foundation in computer science.
• 1–3 years of professional experience developing Java applications.
• Solid grasp of OOP concepts, data structures, algorithms, and multithreading.
• Hands‑on experience with REST APIs, relational databases and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ and version‑control tools.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to handle on‑call incident management.

Skills

• Core Java and object‑oriented programming.
