Software Development Engineer I

About the role

JioStar is hiring a Software Development Engineer I for its Viewer Experience team in Bangalore. The position centers on creating high‑performance, user‑facing features for the JioHotstar website and TV applications, with a strong emphasis on frontend engineering, JavaScript, and reusable UI components.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver end‑to‑end frontend features for JioHotstar web and TV platforms.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, and cross‑browser compatibility of the applications.
• Translate UI/UX designs into functional, reusable components and libraries.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to assess technical feasibility.
• Document solutions, create DFDs, and maintain clear code comments.
• Participate in code reviews, follow engineering best practices, and contribute to the internal design system.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 0–2 years of professional experience as a frontend developer.
• Strong hands‑on experience with JavaScript and modern web browsers.
• Familiarity with at least one frontend framework such as React or AngularJS.
• Proficiency with Git and version‑control workflows.
• Experience using build tools like Grunt or Gulp.
