About the role

Thoughtworks is looking for a Lead Developer to drive technical vision and delivery for client projects. Based in Bangalore, the role blends strategic thinking with hands‑on coding, mentoring, and advocacy for best‑practice engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Champion clean, reusable code using TDD, pair programming and design patterns.
  • Own the end‑to‑end software consulting lifecycle from ideation to production.
  • Promote continuous delivery and DevSecOps practices to release high‑quality software quickly.
  • Design pragmatic solutions, select appropriate technologies and make trade‑offs within constraints.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to embed UX standards and technical excellence.
  • Mentor and grow Thoughtworkers, fostering an inclusive and feedback‑rich culture.

Eligibility

  • Proven experience leading software development teams using Agile, Lean or Continuous delivery.
  • Strong communication skills to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to influence peers and champion technical excellence.

Skills

  • Proficiency in two or more languages such as Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, Ruby or C#.
  • Deep understanding of TDD, continuous integration, pairing and infrastructure automation.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and container tools (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  • Experience with DevSecOps practices and shifting security left.
  • Comfort with functional programming, event‑driven architecture or platform engineering concepts.
