Lead Software Engineer

About the role

As a Lead Software Engineer at Société Générale in Bangalore, you will steer the frontend team, shaping high‑quality web applications using React, Angular and TypeScript while collaborating closely with backend services built on Java and Spring Boot. The role blends technical leadership with hands‑on development in a hybrid work setting.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain complex frontend features using React, Angular and TypeScript.
• Guide the team in applying best practices for code quality, TDD, BDD and DDD.
• Integrate frontend components with Java‑based backend services and Spring Boot APIs.
• Drive unit and end‑to‑end testing strategies for the UI stack.
• Promote DevOps practices, including Docker, Kubernetes and Azure usage where beneficial.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure agile delivery across sprints.

Eligibility

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in software development.
• Proven expertise in modern frontend frameworks (React, Angular) and TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• Hands‑on experience with Git, Jira, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Leadership or lead‑level experience in a technology team.
