Senior Frontend Engineer

About the role

Sage is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead the design, development, and delivery of high‑quality SaaS web applications and AI‑driven user interfaces. Based in Bangalore, the role is hybrid (three days onsite) and requires 7+ years of experience, strong collaboration with product and design teams, and a commitment to code quality, testing, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement new features for Sage’s cloud SaaS platform, ensuring performance and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to translate requirements into intuitive UI components.
• Mentor team members, share best practices, and drive adoption of modern frontend tooling.
• Write comprehensive unit, component, and end‑to‑end tests and maintain high code‑quality standards.
• Optimize complex data grids and implement accessibility and internationalization guidelines.
• Integrate generative‑AI capabilities and LLM APIs into the client‑side experience.

Eligibility

• Minimum 7 years of professional frontend development experience.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Skills

• Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES Modules, async).
• Deep expertise with React (hooks, composition, performance tuning).
• Solid HTML5, CSS3, and responsive UI fundamentals.
• Experience with Vite or Webpack build tooling and code‑splitting.
• State management using Redux Toolkit, XState, or TanStack Query.
• Reactive programming with RxJS.
• Consuming REST APIs with JWT/OAuth2 authentication.
• Styling with Tailwind CSS, Material UI, and design‑token systems.
• Complex data‑grid implementation (ag‑Grid Enterprise or similar).
• Testing with Vitest/Jest, Testing Library, and Playwright for E2E.
