Software Engineer, Frontend (React)

About the role

Plane is building a local‑first, collaborative work management platform. As a Frontend Engineer you will own user‑facing surfaces, improve sync and offline capabilities, and ensure dense views stay fast for thousands of issues. You will work closely with designers, product managers, and backend engineers across San Francisco and Hyderabad.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and ship React + TypeScript components from concept to production.
• Extend local‑first sync and collaborative editing layers, handling serialization and conflict resolution.
• Optimize performance of dense, virtualized views and ensure smooth offline experiences using Service Workers and IndexedDB.
• Collaborate daily with cross‑functional teams and review community pull requests.
• Identify and fix visual or behavioral bugs across browsers and self‑hosted deployments.

Eligibility

• 2+ years of professional experience building React and TypeScript applications.
• Strong understanding of state management (MobX, Redux, Zustand or similar).
• Proficiency in CSS frameworks like Tailwind and experience with component libraries.
• Experience working with collaborative editors or offline‑first architectures is a plus.
