Principal Software Developer

About the role

OpenText is seeking a Principal Software Developer to lead architectural design and engineering of enterprise web platforms and AI‑driven UI solutions. Based in Hyderabad, the role involves creating high‑quality designs across devices, guiding senior engineers, delivering proofs‑of‑concept, and ensuring seamless integration within an Agile framework.

Responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality architecture and design specifications for multi‑device platforms.
• Create detailed technical designs for mobile applications and deliver rapid POCs and integration estimates.
• Guide senior engineers, code complex framework components, and lead design/code reviews to maintain standards.
• Propose innovative solutions balancing risk, effort and complexity while mentoring team members.
• Collaborate across teams to ensure product interoperability and provide training/consultation.
• Participate throughout the Agile software development lifecycle from design to release.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 12 years of enterprise product development experience.
• Strong programming, debugging, and object‑oriented JavaScript expertise with HTML/CSS.
• Proficiency in XML, web services (SOAP, REST), and building/consuming APIs.
• Experience with major databases (SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, HANA) and performance/security for mobile/enterprise apps.
• Familiarity with Agile processes, build tools (npm, Grunt, Node), and up‑to‑date AI trends and tools.
