About the role
Onit is looking for a Software Developer in Test to join its Pune R&D team. The role focuses on building and maintaining automation frameworks for UI, API and integration testing of the company’s AI‑driven legal operations platform. You will work closely with developers and product managers to embed quality checks throughout the CI/CD pipeline and help ship reliable releases.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and evolve automation frameworks that cover critical user flows, edge cases and role‑based permissions.
- Write clean, maintainable test scripts using Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Integrate test suites with Allure reporting, Jenkins and the broader CI/CD pipeline to ensure tests run on every build.
- Analyse test failures, perform root‑cause investigations and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Champion automation best practices, define test‑data strategies and report quality metrics to leadership.
- Participate in code reviews, enforce Git‑based workflows and mentor junior team members on testing techniques.

Eligibility
- Minimum three years of experience as an SDET or automation engineer in a product‑focused environment.
- Strong command of JavaScript; familiarity with TypeScript is a plus.
- Hands‑on experience with Playwright for both UI and API automation.
- Proven ability to integrate automated tests with Allure, Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience reviewing code, managing Git repositories and collaborating in agile teams.
