Associate - Category Management

About the role

The Associate – Category Management role in Bangalore supports the commercial and merchandising strategy for a product category. You will analyse market trends, manage inventory, negotiate with suppliers and work closely with marketing, sales and operations to drive category growth and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business goals.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities.
• Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers and manage contracts.
• Plan and optimise product assortment and inventory using demand forecasts.
• Analyse sales and performance metrics to make data‑driven decisions.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales and operations teams for seamless execution.
• Monitor industry trends, consumer preferences and competitor activities.
• Prepare regular reports and present category insights to senior management.

Eligibility

• Any graduate degree, postgraduate degree or MBA.
• 1.6 – 3.6 years of relevant experience in category management, merchandising, business analytics or commercial operations.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
• Good commercial acumen and business orientation.
• Proficiency in working with data and performance metrics.
• Effective communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills.
