Associate Software Engineer

About the role

Minfy is looking for an Associate Software Engineer to join its AI‑focused delivery team. The role is ideal for fresh graduates and involves writing clean code, unit testing, and supporting low‑to‑medium complexity features using Java, Python or related languages.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify well‑structured, testable code for assigned features and bug fixes.
• Perform unit testing and assist in debugging to resolve defects reported by QA or users.
• Maintain technical documentation, including code comments and design specs for small enhancements.
• Use Git‑based version control systems for branching, merging, and code management.
• Write basic SQL queries or interact with NoSQL stores to enable required data operations.
• Participate in all SDLC phases, focusing on implementation, testing, and deployment support.
• Attend Agile ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, updating task status in tools like Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Engage in code reviews, incorporate feedback, and provide simple feedback to peers.
• Offer Level‑1 technical support, helping diagnose and escalate production issues.
• Collaborate with senior developers and business analysts to interpret user stories and functional specifications.

Eligibility

• Open to fresh graduates (any engineering or technology degree).
• Willingness to learn and work in an Agile environment.

Skills

• Proficiency in Java and/or Python.
• Understanding of software testing concepts and QA processes.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Basic SQL querying ability.
• Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.
