About the role

Mercari India is looking for a Frontend Engineer to join its Bangalore tech hub. You will work on large‑scale consumer‑to‑consumer marketplace web applications, using React, Next.js and TypeScript to deliver fast, reliable user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web UI using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (ES6), TypeScript, React and Next.js.
  • Integrate GraphQL APIs via Apollo Client and manage state with Redux.
  • Write component documentation and visual tests using Storybook and Cypress.
  • Collaborate with backend and infra teams to deploy services on Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, App Engine).
  • Use Terraform for infrastructure as code and follow CI/CD pipelines with Spinnaker.
  • Participate in code reviews, version control using Git and issue tracking with JIRA.

Eligibility

  • 2–5 years of professional experience in frontend development.
  • Strong grasp of performance, scalability and cross‑browser compatibility.
  • Effective communication skills and alignment with Mercari’s mission and values.
