Software Engineer Intern

About the role

IQVIA is looking for enthusiastic Software Engineer Interns to join its Product Engineering team in Bengaluru. The internship blends software development, AI‑driven features, and quality engineering, offering hands‑on experience with Python, generative AI, REST APIs, cloud platforms and micro‑services in a hybrid, Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test and maintain Python‑based components and micro‑service APIs using FastAPI.
• Build and integrate AI solutions that leverage large language models, prompt engineering, RAG and agentic AI.
• Create and extend automated test frameworks for functional, API, integration, end‑to‑end and performance testing.
• Write complex SQL queries, validate data across PostgreSQL, SQL Server or Snowflake, and ensure data integrity.
• Analyse defects, trace root causes and collaborate with developers to deliver fixes.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging sessions and contribute to technical documentation.

Eligibility

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, AI, Data Science, Computer Applications or a related field.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile setting.
• Genuine interest in software engineering, automation testing and emerging AI technologies.

Skills

• Proficient in Python and object‑oriented programming.
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles.
• Experience with REST API development, JSON/XML handling and Postman.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, SQL Server or Snowflake.
• Understanding of software testing methodologies and automation frameworks.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerisation tools.
