Software Engineering Intern

About the role

Heads Up For Tails is offering an unpaid Software Engineering Internship in Gurugram for final‑year students, recent graduates, or candidates with up to one year of experience. The role focuses on the MERN stack, requiring hands‑on work with Node.js, MongoDB, and React to build backend services and full‑stack features.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend APIs and services using Node.js and MongoDB.
• Support end‑to‑end MERN stack delivery, linking frontend components with backend data.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, product managers, and designers to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean code, participate in code reviews, and create unit tests.
• Assist in building automation scripts and basic CI/CD workflows.

Eligibility

• Final‑year engineering/technology students or recent graduates.
• 0–1 year of experience or project/bootcamp work with the MERN stack.
• Solid understanding of Node.js, MongoDB schema design and routing.
• High energy, curiosity, logical thinking and a bias for action.
• Bonus: familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or ChatGPT.
