About the role

GoKwik is seeking a Backend Software Development Engineer I to design, build, and maintain high‑throughput services that power its D2C commerce platform. You will work with Node.js, TypeScript, and SQL to deliver reliable, scalable APIs while leveraging AI‑assisted tools to boost productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and operate backend services and REST APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
  • Own end‑to‑end feature delivery, from data modelling through deployment and post‑release monitoring.
  • Write efficient SQL queries, manage indexes, and optimise database performance.
  • Implement multi‑tenant data isolation, caching, queuing, and idempotent processing patterns.
  • Build integrations, background jobs, and handle retries, rate‑limits, and failures using queues and Redis.
  • Use AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot) for design, coding, testing, and code reviews, ensuring security and quality.
