Senior Front End Engineer

About the role

Clear Street is looking for a senior front‑end engineer to lead the design and delivery of Clear Street Active, a high‑performance, low‑latency web trading platform. You will shape the user experience for active traders, integrate real‑time market data, and ensure the interface remains fast, reliable, and scalable.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build new features for the Clear Street Active trading UI using React, TypeScript and TanStack.
• Collaborate with product, backend and design teams to deliver end‑to‑end trading workflows.
• Optimize rendering performance and latency to meet the demanding needs of institutional traders.
• Maintain and evolve the component library with Tailwind CSS, ensuring consistency and accessibility.
• Mentor junior engineers, champion best‑practice coding standards, and drive a culture of high‑quality delivery.
• Contribute to tooling, performance monitoring, and developer experience improvements.

Eligibility

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience building web applications.
• At least 3 years of hands‑on work with modern front‑end stacks (React, TypeScript, TanStack, Tailwind).
• Strong grasp of design patterns, data structures and algorithms.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize user experience, performance and code maintainability.
• Team‑first mindset with a commitment to high standards and peer collaboration.
