Senior Software Engineer, Frontend (Trust & Safety)

About the role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer on the Trust & Safety team at Affirm, you will design and build high‑availability user authentication, identity verification, and fraud‑prevention interfaces for a global audience. Working remotely from Canada, you’ll collaborate across product, design, and analytics to deliver fast, reliable experiences that protect customers and support the company’s transparent credit mission.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for your team, guiding engineers through ambiguous problems and ensuring delivery support.
• Partner with product, design, and analytics teams throughout the development lifecycle, contributing ideas, clarifying technical constraints, and balancing risk.
• Identify and champion solutions for project, process, technology, or business challenges, driving proactive improvements.
• Maintain operational health by creating metrics, monitoring systems, handling escalations, and participating in on‑call rotations.
• Promote a culture of quality by establishing and sharing code‑review and design standards across and beyond the team.
• Mentor teammates by providing feedback, guidance, and leading by example to grow talent.

Eligibility

• Minimum 4 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven track record shipping web and mobile applications using declarative UI frameworks such as React, React Native, or Vue.
• Experience designing and delivering significant features with clean, extensible architecture.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude toward personal and team growth.
