The current entity was formed on 4 January 2016 through the merger of Willis Group and Towers Watson, and rebranded from Willis Towers Watson to WTW in October 2022. WTW is listed on the Nasdaq Stock Market under the ticker WTW.

WTW operates through two principal business segments: Health, Wealth & Career, which provides employee-benefits, retirement, executive-compensation, talent, and rewards advisory services; and Risk & Broking, which provides commercial-insurance broking, reinsurance broking, and specialty risk-management services across industries. The firm advises a substantial share of the world's largest companies, public-sector pension schemes, and insurance carriers on risk, people, capital, and climate issues, and operates in more than 140 countries and markets.
