The company was founded in June 2009 by Adam D’Angelo, the former chief technology officer of Facebook, and Charlie Cheever, also a former Facebook engineer. Adam D’Angelo serves as chief executive officer. The Quora platform launched publicly in 2010 and grew into one of the largest English-language question-and-answer sites, later expanding into language editions including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Hindi, Indonesian, and others.
