Quizizz

Quizizz is an education-technology company that operates a gamified, quiz-based teaching and learning platform used by educators, schools, and corporate trainers across more than 150 countries. The platform allows teachers to author or remix quizzes, lessons, and interactive activities, and to run them live in classrooms or asynchronously as self-paced assignments, with detailed reports on learner performance.

The company was founded in 2015 by BITS Pilani alumni Ankit Gupta and Deepak Joy Cheenath. Their first product, Wizen World, was a virtual world for math learning; feedback from early users led the founders to pivot to a simpler quiz-based format that became Quizizz. The product gained significant traction in K-12 classrooms, especially during the global shift to remote and hybrid learning, and has since expanded into formal assessments, AI-assisted lesson generation, and enterprise learning use cases. The Quizizz platform is reported to support over a billion question responses each month.
