It offers online and offline preparation programmes for engineering, medical, government, and other competitive examinations, as well as K-12 supplemental learning, skilling, study-abroad, and higher-education courses through PW Skills and PW Institute of Innovation.
The brand began as a YouTube channel started by Alakh Pandey in 2014 and was incorporated as PhysicsWallah Private Limited in 2020 with co-founder Prateek Maheshwari. PhysicsWallah became a unicorn in 2022 after raising venture capital from WestBridge and GSV Ventures, and has since raised follow-on rounds from Hornbill Capital, Lightspeed, and others. In 2025 the company filed and progressed plans for an initial public offering.
