About HackerEarth (BrowserStack subsidiary)
HackerEarth is an Indian developer assessment and engagement platform headquartered in Bengaluru, Karnataka that helps enterprises evaluate, hire, upskill, and engage software engineering talent through online coding assessments, hiring workflows, hackathons, and innovation programmes. The platform supports a large library of programming questions, automated code evaluation across more than 40 languages, proctoring, and integrations with applicant tracking systems. The company was founded in 2012 by Sachin Gupta and Vivek Prakash. HackerEarth grew its developer community to several million registered users and became one of the leading Indian platforms for online programming contests and corporate hackathons. The company raised institutional capital from investors including Beenext, DHI, GSF, and others. In 2024, BrowserStack, the Mumbai-founded software testing platform, announced the acquisition of HackerEarth, after which HackerEarth continued to operate as a standalone product brand within BrowserStack. HackerEarth's product family includes HackerEarth Assessments, an enterprise technical-hiring assessment product with library questions, custom coding tasks, project-style assessments, plagiarism detection, and AI-assisted question generation; HackerEarth FaceCode, a video-and-coding interview platform for live technical interviews; HackerEarth Hackathons, a hosted platform for internal innovation challenges and community contests; and HackerEarth Learning and Sprint, products for developer training and onboarding. The company also runs a long-running calendar of public coding contests for the developer community. HackerEarth employs several hundred people, primarily in Bengaluru, with additional remote contributors across India. Indian fresher and early-career hiring at HackerEarth targets full-stack and backend software engineering, frontend engineering, data engineering, product management, design, customer success, and developer-evangelism roles, with applications routed through the HackerEarth careers page at hackerearth.com.
