Gojek is an Indonesian on-demand multi-service super app headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia that provides ride-hailing for cars and motorcycles, food and grocery delivery, parcel and on-demand logistics, digital payments, and a range of consumer and merchant services across Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam. The Gojek app aggregates more than a dozen services under a single interface for consumers, drivers, and merchants. The company was founded in 2010 by Nadiem Makarim, Michaelangelo Moran, and Kevin Aluwi as a motorcycle ride-hailing call centre in Jakarta and launched its mobile application in 2015. Gojek expanded rapidly into adjacent verticals including GoFood for restaurant delivery, GoPay for digital payments, GoSend for logistics, and GoMart for grocery, and it expanded internationally into Singapore, Vietnam, and other Southeast Asian markets through acquisitions and joint ventures. In May 2021, Gojek and Indonesian e-commerce company Tokopedia merged to form GoTo Group, formally known as PT GoTo Gojek Tokopedia Tbk, which listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in April 2022 under the ticker GOTO. Within GoTo Group, Gojek operates as the on-demand services arm alongside Tokopedia for e-commerce and the GoTo Financial business, which includes GoPay and merchant financial services. In 2024 GoTo and TikTok formed a partnership in which TikTok took a controlling stake in Tokopedia's e-commerce operations in Indonesia. Gojek and the broader GoTo Group employ several thousand people across Indonesia, Singapore, India, and other markets. India operations include an engineering centre in Bengaluru that supports product engineering, data, and platform reliability for the Gojek and GoTo applications.
