About Cleartrip Private Limited
Cleartrip Private Limited is an Indian online travel company headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra that operates a consumer travel platform for booking domestic and international flights, hotels, trains, and bus tickets. The company also offers ancillary services such as travel insurance, visa assistance, and a loyalty programme, and distributes inventory through its mobile applications and partner channels.
Cleartrip was founded in July 2006 by Hrush Bhatt, Matthew Spacie, and Stuart Crighton. The company expanded across India and the Middle East and acquired the Indian rail-booking aggregator Cleartrip Cabs and other small adjacent businesses over the following decade. In April 2021, Flipkart, the Walmart-owned Indian e-commerce company, acquired Cleartrip in an all-cash transaction, after which Cleartrip continued to operate as a separate consumer brand and platform within the Flipkart group. Following the acquisition, Cleartrip relaunched its product on a new technology stack and integrated travel offerings into the Flipkart app.
