Staff Software Engineer - Frontend

About the role

Walmart is looking for a Staff Frontend Engineer to lead the design and delivery of modern, responsive web experiences for its Marketplace Payments and Capital platforms. Based in Sunnyvale, you will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and drive high‑impact, cloud‑native solutions that serve millions of sellers worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build responsive front‑end applications using React, TypeScript, and modern UI patterns.
• Collaborate with backend teams to create end‑to‑end payment and financial workflows.
• Develop scalable services with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka and Cassandra on Azure/GCP.
• Introduce Agentic AI and LLM‑based features to accelerate development and improve user productivity.
• Create reusable component libraries and design systems to ensure consistency across teams.
• Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• At least 6 years of professional software development experience, with a strong focus on full‑stack engineering.
• Eligibility to work in the United States; immigration sponsorship is not available.
