About the role

Snowflake is looking for a senior engineer to own and advance web performance for Snowsight, its large React‑based analytics platform. The role involves defining performance strategy, building monitoring infrastructure, and guiding product teams to keep the application fast and reliable.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive a web performance strategy based on real‑user metrics and Core Web Vitals.
  • Build and maintain RUM and synthetic monitoring pipelines, performance dashboards, and CI regression detection.
  • Identify and resolve systemic bottlenecks in loading, rendering, data fetching, and runtime efficiency.
  • Optimize build and delivery processes, including bundle size reduction, code‑splitting, tree‑shaking, and CDN caching.
  • Establish performance budgets and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with product teams to design performance‑aware architectures for new features.
  • Mentor engineers on performance best practices and conduct critical path reviews.
  • Represent frontend performance considerations in cross‑org architectural decisions.

Eligibility

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, especially in large‑scale web applications.
  • Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript and React, including rendering internals.
  • Strong knowledge of browser performance fundamentals and profiling tools.
  • Experience designing and operating real‑user monitoring and synthetic performance systems.
  • Proficiency with build tooling such as Webpack, Vite or Bazel and delivery optimization techniques.
  • Experience with virtualization, large dataset rendering, and efficient DOM management.
  • Excellent communication and influence skills to set technical direction across teams.
  • Willingness to work on‑site at Snowflake’s Bellevue, WA or Menlo Park, CA offices.
