Senior Software Engineer (Frontend)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to help drive Scribd’s Web Modernization program and build the frontend foundations for our next generation of web product experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead major modernization workstreams — migrating complex legacy web applications into a modern Microfrontend ecosystem, creating repeatable migration patterns and shared foundations other teams can build on — while ensuring performance, developer experience, and user impact stay high throughout the transition.
• Ship production-critical frontend code, define patterns and boundaries that other teams build on, and partner cross-functionally to make architectural change practical and durable.
• Work on a product team to build product features that help publishers upload their documents to Scribd and readers consume these documents.

Eligibility

• 6+ years of professional frontend software engineering experience
• Deep experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and React
• Hands-on experience with Next.js or similar modern web frameworks

• Strong systems thinking, with the ability to reason about frontend architecture at scale
