React Front End Developer (3‑month Contract, Remote, UK)

About the role

Satalia is looking for a senior React engineer to join a small, high‑performing team building a real‑time collaborative canvas called Solve. The contract lasts three months, is fully remote from the UK, and focuses on complex front‑end challenges such as direct manipulation, streaming AI output, and multi‑user editing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise the interactive canvas, handling pan, zoom, drag, selection and rich card layouts.
• Implement client‑side state management for transient interactions and persistent product data.
• Build real‑time collaboration features including presence, optimistic updates, reconnect logic and conflict resolution.
• Own the client side of Server‑Sent Events streams and evaluate WebSocket adoption where beneficial.
• Create AI‑facing UI components for streaming output, agent status and partial results.
• Define performance, accessibility and testing strategies for all front‑end features.

Eligibility

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience building complex React applications.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, browser state management and performance tuning.
• Proven experience with real‑time event handling (SSE or WebSockets) in collaborative products.
• Ability to work remotely from the United Kingdom for the contract duration.
• Interest in AI‑driven products and willingness to engage with backend teams.

Skills

• Deep React and TypeScript knowledge.
• Experience with Server‑Sent Events, WebSockets and real‑time data pipelines.
• Understanding of collaborative software patterns, optimistic concurrency and conflict resolution.
• Performance optimisation, accessibility compliance and front‑end testing.
• Comfortable designing API contracts and working across the front‑end/back‑end boundary.
