Principal Engineer Software, Frontend (Prisma AIRS)

About the role

As a Principal Frontend Engineer for Palo Alto Networks' Prisma AIRS Red Teaming product, you will own the architectural design and delivery of highly visual, scalable web interfaces that help customers assess and protect AI systems. Working on‑site in Bangalore, you will collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and backend engineers to turn complex security requirements into intuitive user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement graphic‑intensive web features that surface red‑team engagement insights and actionable recommendations.
• Interpret intricate security problems, gather detailed requirements, and apply advanced engineering practices to deliver high‑quality solutions.
• Identify process gaps and propose simple, effective improvements to boost team productivity and product quality.
• Lead cross‑functional discussions to ensure alignment between product, design, and engineering teams.
• Establish and champion engineering best practices, including test‑driven development for red‑team tools.
• Mentor junior frontend engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of professional software development experience.
• Deep expertise in building web GUIs with React, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript (ES6+).
• Proven experience with React ecosystem tools such as Hooks, Webpack, Vite, and Storybook.
• Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or GitLab.
• Preferred: familiarity with micro‑frontend patterns, data‑visualisation libraries, UI testing frameworks (Vitest, Jest, react‑testing‑library), Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform.
