Software Engineer

About the role

Optum India is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain high‑performance applications using Python or Java. The role focuses on building cloud‑native solutions, integrating AI/ML capabilities, and delivering robust APIs for healthcare services.

Responsibilities

• Interpret business requirements and translate them into scalable application designs.
• Write clean, reusable code in Python and/or Java while following best‑practice engineering standards.
• Design, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries and data access layers.
• Develop, consume, and document RESTful APIs and micro‑services.
• Build and manage CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar tools.
• Collaborate with data scientists, architects, and cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, MCA or equivalent.
• 1+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proficiency in Python and/or Java, SQL, Git, and cloud platforms.
• Experience with CI/CD, RESTful APIs, and Agile/Scrum processes.
