Principal Engineer UI, Lifecycle Management

About the role

This is a Principal-level individual contributor role — the technical authority for the Identity Lifecycle and Administration group. You'll own frontend architecture strategy, set standards across multiple teams, and mentor Senior and Staff engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term frontend technical strategy for the Identity Lifecycle and Administration group
• Build high-complexity UI components — editors, grids, structured data views — with a focus on performance
• Evolve the front-end architecture: component libraries, layout systems, theming, and global UI patterns
• Own interaction design decisions where design coverage is limited
• Build frameworks and tooling that make other teams faster
• Mentor Senior and Staff engineers on key technical initiatives
• Set and enforce architectural standards for DX, observability, and quality across the group

Eligibility

• 10+ years of software development experience
• Deep expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js
• Backend proficiency in Java, Python, or C++ (Spring or equivalent frameworks)
• Proven experience with design systems and scalable UI architecture
• Strong command of web performance optimization and WCAG accessibility
• Ability to communicate complex architectural decisions clearly to both engineers and stakeholders
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
