Associate Engineer - AI Services

About the role

NTT DATA is seeking an Associate Engineer - AI Services to join their team in Chennai or Bangalore, India. The role involves designing, developing, prototyping, and testing distributed software systems, working directly inside a microservices environment powered by telemetry data and automated machine learning workflows.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Receive detailed instructions to build, write, and test clean functional code segments for software enhancements and web applications.
• Automated Testing: Assist in drafting and executing automated test script architectures to validate software stability.
• Microservices & APIs: Design and develop system functionalities inside a microservices-based environment, leveraging RESTful APIs and telemetry telemetry points.
• AI/ML Implementation: Run and apply proper Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence algorithms across both structured and unstructured enterprise datasets.
• Code Review & Refactoring: Assist with routine code refactoring to maximize efficiency and participate in basic peer code reviews under senior supervision.
• Documentation: Author, update, and maintain comprehensive technical programs, system architecture maps, end-user manuals, and daily operational procedures.

Eligibility

• Full-time Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Developing familiarity or basic conceptual understanding of core languages such as C/C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Node.js.
• Good understanding of computer science foundations, including data structures, sorting algorithms, and core software design principles.
• Basic exposure to standard SQL and No-SQL data stores (such as Elasticsearch, MongoDB, or Cassandra).
• Baseline awareness of cloud services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and basic container runtimes (Docker, Kubernetes, or LXC/LXD).
