Frontend Architect

About the role

Noon is looking for a Frontend Architect to serve as the technical anchor of their frontend organisation. This is a high-leverage, hands-on role — you'll balance deep individual contribution with long-term technical direction. Key challenges include maintaining high performance on canvases with thousands of AI-generated nodes and architecting real-time collaborative systems at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own module boundaries, state and data flow, rendering strategy, and system extensibility
• Drive the frontend roadmap through RFCs and architecture reviews, balancing speed-to-market with maintainability
• Own performance across large documents, long sessions, and memory usage
• Set the bar for testing practices, CI quality gates, observability, and release reliability
• Partner with Design, Product, and Backend on API design and distributed systems tradeoffs
• Mentor engineers and raise the craft of the frontend org through code reviews and workshops

Eligibility

• 10+ years of professional experience building large-scale web applications
• 2–4 years in a frontend architecture or technical strategy ownership role
• Mastery of React and TypeScript for complex, high-performance UIs
• Proven track record building editors, canvas UIs, node-based editors, multi-pane layouts, or timelines
• Deep experience with modern state management and reactive programming patterns
• Demonstrated ability to optimise for memory and rendering bottlenecks under real-world production conditions
