Software Engineer-1

About the role

As a Software Engineer-1 at Nike, you will join the Global Technology team in Bangalore to build and operate scalable tools that empower Nike’s footwear and apparel designers. You will work on front‑end web experiences and cloud‑native services, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using modern front‑end frameworks.
• Build and integrate cloud‑native platforms, APIs and services on AWS following an API‑first approach.
• Participate in Agile sprint ceremonies and contribute to the full software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable, high‑quality software solutions.
• Support testing, deployment, monitoring and operational excellence of the applications.
• Continuously improve performance, scalability, resilience and maintainability of user‑facing and backend services.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent.
• 0–2 years of software development experience.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.

Skills

• Proficiency with React or Vue.js for front‑end development.
• Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch and S3.
• Knowledge of cloud architecture, DevOps practices, infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with testing frameworks like Mocha, Jasmine and Jest.
• Solid understanding of design patterns, algorithms and computer‑science fundamentals.
• Exposure to AI/ML concepts and data‑driven solutions (preferred).
• Experience with RESTful APIs, domain‑driven design and microservices architecture.
