About the role

MasterCard is looking for a data‑focused Associate Analyst to turn large‑scale payments and transaction data into clear reports and actionable insights. Based in Navi Mumbai, the role blends data preparation, quality checks, SQL and Python analysis, dashboard creation and automation while partnering with business, product and technology teams.

Responsibilities

Extract, cleanse and validate massive datasets from internal and external sources using SQL, Python, Excel and approved platforms.
Perform data‑quality reviews, document lineage and resolve discrepancies or escalate as needed.
Analyse transaction data to surface trends, anomalies, customer behaviour and operational opportunities using statistical techniques.
Write optimized SQL queries and Python (pandas/NumPy) scripts; work with Databricks notebooks and Spark/PySpark for distributed processing.
Automate recurring reports and validation routines to reduce manual effort.
Build and maintain Power BI or Tableau dashboards, prepare ad‑hoc reports and present findings to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Eligibility

Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Commerce or a related field.
3‑4 years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data management or a comparable technical role.
Ability to handle sensitive data responsibly and comply with security and privacy policies.

Skills
