Principal Engineer - Frontend

About the role

Inception42 is seeking a Principal Frontend Engineer to define and evolve the technical architecture of its AI‑driven web applications and design systems. The role is hands‑on, guiding large‑scale production systems built with React, Next.js and TypeScript while collaborating closely with product, design, backend, AI/ML and security teams.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain frontend platforms, shared libraries and design systems across multiple products.
• Develop production‑grade applications using React, Next.js, TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
• Establish patterns for state management, data fetching, routing, error handling and component composition.
• Drive performance optimisation covering Core Web Vitals, code‑splitting, caching and bundle size.
• Define and implement testing strategies spanning unit, integration, component, end‑to‑end and visual regression.
• Improve observability, reliability and operational readiness through telemetry and error monitoring.
• Embed security best practices in authentication, authorization and dependency management.
• Strengthen CI/CD pipelines with automated quality gates and repeatable deployment workflows.
• Lead architecture and code reviews, mentor senior engineers and foster frontend technical leadership.
• Collaborate with product and design to make pragmatic decisions that balance user experience and maintainability.

Eligibility

• Minimum 10 years of professional frontend engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS and browser behaviour.
• Proven track record delivering complex production applications with React and Next.js.
• Experience building design systems and reusable component libraries.
• Deep understanding of SSR, SSG, hydration, caching and performance profiling.
• Hands‑on experience with REST, GraphQL, WebSockets or event‑driven services.
• Proficiency in automated testing tools such as Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright or Cypress.
• Solid grasp of security, reliability and maintainability principles.
• Excellent communication, debugging and leadership skills.
